The Victoria Clinic's 'You Choose' campaign is supported by an unrestricted grant from pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline UK Limited as part of its broad programme of support to individuals and communities affected by HIV. GlaxoSmithKline has worked with over 50 HIV community groups in the UK providing a range of services including capacity building and sponsorship for initiatives to disseminate HIV treatment information and support adherence.
GlaxoSmithKline was a founding sponsor of the first 'Back to Work' initiative spearheaded by the UK Coalition of People living with HIV/AIDS and has recently launched EmbraceTM, a health promotional programme which aims to raise awareness of HIV in black African communities in the UK. Its uniteTM programme was launched in June 2000 to support adherence to HIV therapies by providing both people living with HIV and healthcare professionals with information and practical tools.
Through these initiatives and a £2.5 billion annual investment into researching and developing new medicines, GlaxoSmithKline is committed to improving the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.
